Dr Pinkesh Thakkar is a Specialist General & Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 20 years of experience.

He received his Medical Degree from B.J. Medical College & New Civil Hospital, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad in 2000, where he also completed his postgraduate training and residency in General Surgery in 2004.

Dr Thakkar did his Surgical Gastroenerology and Liver Transplantation fellowship from the reputed Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi.  He is also a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow – FRCS (Glasg) and a Fellow of American College of Surgeons (FACS).

In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Thakkar has received advanced training in:

LASER Proctology and Varicose vein surgery training from Healing Hands Clinic, Pune, India and from Marien Hospital Lübeck, Germany under Dr Claus Blumberg.

Colon and Rectal Surgery Observership in Toronto Western Hospital;

Certification course – Improving Global Health: Focus on quality and safety from Harvard University.

He has also been an international visiting scholar in Colon & Rectal surgery at Asan Medical Centre in Seoul, South Korea (2014).

His areas of interest and expertise include laparoscopic surgeries, Proctology, acute care surgeries, colon and rectal surgery and general surgery.

Dr. Thakkar also has a special interest in proctology surgeries like LASER haemorrhoids, anal fistula and anal fissure surgeries, STARR procedures, THD and stapler haemorrhoidopexy.
